Feeding
We heard already many information on feeding cats. Every breeder has his own ways but all of them agree that feeding cats with the food the one can buy at supermarkets (like Whiskas or Darling) as well as meals for people. Nevertheless common opinion on cats drinking milk it is forbidden to give milk to adult cats.
Our way is to feed our wonderful band with Hill's food. Main courses are of lamb based Hill's dry food. We give also Sheba Creation as well as Hill's kitten to our younger sweeties. From time to time we feed with fresh beef. Important thing is to give vitamins to youngsters (especially those who don't want to eat food for kitten) and some goodies for hairball release or teeth cleaning.
We give also fresh, boiled water changed everyday.
While choosing the food You must be very careful - some cats suffer of allergy.

Next step, of course is a litter.
Very important thing, must be always clean and odour-free. One of signs for good cattery is a lack of nasty smelt especially while cattery is placed in a flat.
We use a covered litter for more aesthetics and odour reduction. We also use silicon litter being changed once a week. It is important that this litter is almost 100% dust-free. The only disadvantage is noise - we have two litters and when at 3am two cats use them the noise wakes us up... :)

Vaccinations are important way to protect our pets from many dangerous and deadly diseases. We follow vaccination calendar carefully and use four-disease (incl. very dangerous chlamydia) vaccination and anti-rabies one. Prior to vaccinations we always give vermicide.

Medical treatment - the best is to avoid it at all, but not always it is possible. The best solution, especially when one has such a band as we do, is to have a home - doctor for pets. He can always come, cares on vaccinations and, what is the most important, knows all Your pets. Even the best vet cannot be specialized in all categories, but then we have contact with group of specialists as a support for home-doctor. Regular tests are very important (e.g. FelV or FIV) in case of show and breeding cats. On genetic tests however there is many doubts whether they are reliable and doing them is an individual decision of every breeder. Every MCO over 3 years should be examined with echocardiography against HCM on the yearly basis.

Daily - care is very important in case of show cats. They must be combed with special brushes and metal comb.
Generally bathing the cat is not required. There are however special situation while it can be necessary. First, of course, is preparation for show - clean cat looks simply better and judges look for it as well. Secondly sometimes half-long and long haired tomcats have overreacting tallow gland at the tail base. They use then to spread tallow all over the coat but mostly to the tail. Tail can go to be bold as an effect. There is then a necessity to wash whole cat or just a tail from time to time. Sometimes however powdering the tail is enough.
Next thing to do before the show (but not only then!!!) is to cut claws with special scissors. A part of daily care should cleaning of ears and eyes.
